4 years ago a rupture arrived in my long-term relationship.
it looked like: my partner coming to me begging that I initiate intimacy from now on because he could no longer take the pain of being perpetually rejected…and me not having any desire or clue as to how to do that.
it’s like my mind thought there were 1435 more important things to do than sex
& my body was protecting me from feeling the pain of the unworthiness I was carrying
I knew I couldn’t hide from my shadows any longer
which looked like going into the body to process:
shame around an abortion I had the previous year
fear of failing the new business I started that left me frantic and constricted
all the ways I previously shut myself up to be a ‘perfect good girl’
basically, all the emotions, experiences and expressions I was taught to suppress and ignore
I discovered that I wasn’t broken (or sexually dysfunctional).
I discovered I was actually HIGHLY kinky.
I discovered more of me.
I felt like ALL of me.
I felt whole.
In order to reclaim our full sexual capacity, we need a safe space to lovingly allow what’s inside (emotions, wants, needs) to be expressed
when you can do that ^^^ it opens up more doorways than just to the bedroom. Your voice, creativity, mood, and overall power becomes reborn, just like it did for me.
